No commentsThe Steeple EP – Making Malorie
I got to hear the final mastered version of the Steeple EP by Making Malorie today. It’s a 3 song EP featuring original songs: Victory, Child of Ruin, & On and On. Now, my opinion about their latest offering is obviously prejudiced because I know the band, and they lead worship at 24church, and I created the artwork, but either way this is a great piece of art. These thoroughly Biblical songs get into your bones and stick, and I’m always impressed by a worship band who is forging their own path musically. I’m blessed to get to serve with these guys. The Steeple EP isn’t online yet, but you can drop them a message or email at makingmalorie.com and I’m sure they’ll send you a copy when the disk drops.

I dabble in graphic design under the moniker Bearded Man Studio. Eventually I’m going to have a site completely devoted to that endeavor, but in the mean time I’ve gone ahead and created a few pages on this site to better showcase my portfolio. I’m a self proclaimed non-expert; however, I do enjoy creating things and listening to Underoath. If for no other reason than that, Bearded Man exists. If you need any design work for graphics or web, shoot me an email and we’ll talk. ben@biggzipp.com

This design was created for an event called Love Live at 24 Church. Love Live was a 4 act concert mixed with presentations by various non-profit organizations. The event was designed to help the people of 24church become more aware of ways in which they could embrace the ethics of the Kingdom of God by caring for the poor and “living gospel.” The event was an outgrowth of a sermon series entitled “Love God. Love People. Live Gospel.”

Logo design, posters, and graphics for sermon series like these are probably what I do the most of as a designer. I’m pretty fond of both of these at the moment.

This is some design work I did for some a camp that some of my buddies are putting on. The job included the creation of a logo, t-shirt, and promotional poster. I was given a fair amount of freedom in the direction of the design and I decided to incorporate a Lion because of it’s messianic symbolism. Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, our Savior, and He is like no other.

These are a couple of new logos / designs I recently completed.
The goal with this design was to try to illustrate the idea of connecting through the logo. This was achieved through a techy / tetris-esque feel that demonstrates movement with the letters.
I intentionally went for a darker / metal theme with this logo. The intent was not to be scary, but rather to illustrate a serious message in an edgy way.
